About Slide-Out Repair in Newport Beach
Slide-out repair covers mechanism, motor and gear service, seal and gasket replacement, and slide room structural repair. OCRV Center services Schwintek, Lippert, Power Gear, and BAL systems for Newport Beach RVs and fifth wheels, including water damage caused by failed seals.
Every slide-out is a compromise. It is a large hole cut into a structural sidewall, closed by a room that moves on a mechanism and sealed by rubber with a finite service life. When it works it is the best feature on the vehicle. When it fails it produces two problems at once: a room that will not move, and an opening that no longer seals. The second one is what does the damage, because a slide that has stopped sealing puts water directly into the floor structure at the one place the vehicle is weakest. We service every common mechanism including Schwintek in wall, Lippert, Power Gear, and BAL Accu Slide, and on Newport Beach vehicles we replace far more hardened seals than failed motors, because coastal sun bakes the rubber long before the electronics quit.
Problems We Solve
These are the situations Newport Beach owners bring us most often for this work. If yours is not listed, call and describe it. We would rather tell you it is outside our scope than take a job we are not the right shop for.
- Slide stalls partway through travel or moves unevenly side to side
- Motor runs but the room does not move
- Water staining on the slide floor or the wall beneath it
- Seals hardened, cracked, or no longer contacting the wall
- Slide room sagging or dropping at the outer edge
- Controller faults or synchronization errors on an in wall system
Our Process
- Operational test under load: Each slide is cycled through full travel while we measure motor current draw and check alignment.
- Mechanism and seal inspection: Rails, gears, motors, and every seal surface are inspected for wear, damage, and compression.
- Water intrusion check: The floor and wall beneath the slide are metered, because a failed seal usually means damage is already present.
- Repair and adjustment: Mechanisms serviced or replaced, seals fitted, and the room aligned and synchronized.
- Repeat cycling: The slide is cycled repeatedly and water tested before the vehicle is released.

Insurance Notes
A slide failure that caused sudden water intrusion is often covered. Seal degradation over time usually is not. Metering readings at intake establish which one applies.
We bill direct with every major carrier and hold direct repair relationships with several. Read how the claim process works or the 25 things carriers do not tell you about RV and van claims.
